I recently visited Marcello, a restaurant in Monaco, and unfortunately, I have to say that it was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. The food served was cold and had a very unpleasant smell. The exceptional flavors and quality you would expect in this price range were definitely lacking. Another significant issue was the restaurant's staff. I had the impression that the waiters were selecting guests based on their attire. If you weren't wearing sufficiently luxurious or elegant clothing, you were clearly undesirable, and the service provided to you was inadequate. Such behavior is entirely unacceptable and does not align with the standards of the hospitality industry. Regarding the prices, they were extremely high, even in comparison to the already elevated prices in Monaco. Considering the quality of the food and service, I would have expected much better value for the money. It is evident that Marcello overprices its offerings and fails to deliver the corresponding quality for such exorbitant prices. Another disappointment was the warm wine that was served to me. Wine should be served at the appropriate temperature, and this was clearly overlooked. Such details should not be overlooked in a restaurant of this caliber. To summarize, Marcello restaurant in Monaco was one of the worst restaurants I have ever visited. Cold food, unpleasant odor, high prices, and discriminatory behavior from the staff created a combination that made the entire experience unpleasant. I do not recommend this restaurant for those seeking quality food, a pleasant atmosphere, and fair value for their money.

I found this restaurant by accident and I am glad I did . Lovely atmosphere, very friendly service and importantly amazing food . I ordered famous focaccia with ham and it was so delicious. It is a big portion so one is enough for two people . Plenty to eat . It was served with oils , vinegar and extra chilly oil . Delicious indeed . The service was also perfect . After food , I tried a coffee which also tested perfectly . There are two funny Bears sitting inside next to the window and I thought it was also a lovely touch of welcome .

Worst restaurant ever!!! What a horrible experience. In all my years travelling this has been by far the worst. Very aggressive and rude service from, it seems, the son of the owner of the restaurant. We were treated very bad, without even considering our four very young children were present, and all because we changed our mind and decided we wanted to seat inside, even before ordering anything, because it was extremely noisy outside. This guy even started saying bad words and cursing in front of our children. I would not recommend this restaurant not anybody. And yes, I am expecting a very rude reply from the owner or his son, because that is their nature. Anyway, this was our bad experience. I hope they are humble enough to learn from this and other bad reviews and keep growing from the good reviews.

Went there last night. What a shocker. I had pasta with clams. The pasta was so overcooked it was gelatinous, and there were hardly any clams present. As for the wine list: there were 3 or 4 wines under 30 or 40 Euro and the rest were over 200 Euro with nothing in between. To add insult to injury, the waiter turned his nose up when we asked for tap instead of bottled water and actually looked to see if we'd left a tip before leaving the table.

We used to come here before quite often, today this place is offering strange menu with not actually Italian food. To be honest, before it was better! Moreover, on the terrace was playing awful French rap as laud as it could be. (French rap in “Italian Restaurant” during casual lunch)

The new management of Marcello restaurant is amazing! This italian restaurant is brand new. The staff is really polite and helpful and the location is really clean. We have ate here in 4 and all was wonderful! Starters and gourmet main dishes. All food is very fine and tasty. The fresh foods comes everyday from Italy and for this reason it is high quality. There is also a very goods choice for wines. The prices are very affordable! I strongly reccomend to spend time in this place in Montercarlo.

Amazing experience by Marcello! I was last month there with my family and I couldn't be more happy about our choice. The restaurant is very beautiful and well placed, the team is kind and professional and the food is delicious. You can see and taste that all the ingredients are fresh and every plate is well and professional cooked. I was very happy about my beautiful Italian dinner and I can only reccomend it.

Just arrived in Monaco, my husband and I stopped at Marcello's for a short rest, place was not busy. We decided to have a glass of wine while planning our day as it was very hot we sat outside. The outside display noted that the house wine was €5 glass so we ordered 2 glasses. When leaving we were given a bill for €20. When we questioned it we were told "you didn't say you wanted the house wine" ( the house wine was the only one on the display and we had not been offered any other wine menu) We were not going to argue over it, clearly the waiter knew we only had very basic French and we were tourists.

Good Italian food. The location is ideal in the heart of Monaco's La Condamine. Good for a quick lunch with co-workers or a dinner with friends familly or date. The outside terrasse isn'take conditioned but enough wind to keep cool even with 32°. Food is simple yet of good quality with great ingredients. Service is quick and waiters are nice, speaking Italian French and English at least.

Superb food at a fair price BUT lighting is so bright in the evening that ambience is killed!!! Take some lightbulbs out and put a few candles on the table and this place will have such a better feel in the evening

My expectations were low since it was the F1 race weekend, but they still managed to miss those. Our pizza came out cold while the table next to ours was fresh. Service was TERRIBLE. We had to ask 4 times for the bottle of wine we ordered and another 4 times for the check. Once we got it the waitress avoided us to the point I had to go find the manager to pay. I've never skipped on a check in my life but nearly did after waiting 30 minutes to pay.

Great Italian restaurant / bodega. Friendly Italian waiters and food on another level compared to most of the Italian restaurants in the area. Strong Piedimont influence in the ingredients. Reasonably priced, book ahead especially on the weekend.

Excellent simple and fine Italian cuisine, friendly service. Definitely above your ordinary Italian restaurant. Finding a qualitative - yet not pretentious - restaurant in Monaco is hard, this one is definitely a keeper.
